DEB COHEN

MA, ATR, LPC, BCPC

Ms. Cohen obtained her Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Houston/Clear Lake in 1982. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Registered Art Therapist. Ms. Cohen has been practicing for over 30 years, primarily in substance abuse treatment, working with both adolescents and adults. She has experience working with individuals, groups, and families. Additionally, she worked with the treatment of perinatal (pregnant women) for 8 years.

 

Ms Cohen has over 30 years working with issues around substance abuse disorders, codependency, & mood disorders. She has worked with adolescents, adults, couples & families. 

 

With numerous decades of clinical experience, Ms Cohen utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions & approaches. She actively works on matching the appropriate therapeutic strategies to best meet the client's needs, skill set, & strengths. Whatever the approach, Ms. Cohen assists clients with learning to address their issues from a strength-based position. She consistently utilizes the concepts & practices of Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) & Mindfulness to assist with empowering the client in gaining a sense of mastery over themselves (most importantly), & their environment, & to assist with improving functioning across all life areas.

AMANDA D'ULISSE

Amanda is a licensed clinical social worker, and she obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013.  She attended the University of Akron for undergrad; received a minor in Addictions Studies and graduated from there in 2012. She has been practicing social work since 2013; working in multiple settings. She has worked in the hospital, outpatient clinics and most recently for an insurance company providing assistance to members with complex needs. Her experience includes working with individuals 18 years or older and all the way up to the senior population. Areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, stress management, communication strategies, medically complex situations and bereavement.

Ms. Fox has been a licensed therapist since 1991, having been trained as a Gestalt therapist with the New England Gestalt Therapy Institute. She received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She specializes in treating dual diagnosis, depression, anxiety, ADHD, family issues, bereavement, and family of origin issues.  She has worked with clients who have acute mental health issues at Westmoreland Hospital and Western Psychiatric Clinic as group therapist.  Also she has been a group therapist at Gateway’s Intensive Outpatient Program for substance abuse. She has years of experience as a care manager at UPMC.  Ginny has compassion and understanding for clients on their journey of emotional healing.

KRISTIN HOCHARD

Kristin is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Social Worker with over 8 years’ experience in outpatient mental health and drug and alcohol therapy. Kristin has both a Master's of Psychology from Chatham University and a Masters of Social Work from the University of New England. She is a professional  who is experienced in many facets of social work as well as professional counseling which includes working with the seriously mentally ill, individuals who suffer from drug/alcohol addiction, those who are experiencing grief and loss, as well as couples experiencing change and transition in their lives.  Her style is interactive, relational, creative and transparent.  Kristin is skilled in empowering people to make positive change in their lives and will work alongside her clients to develop the tools to achieve this change.  Her experience and dedication to others is evidenced through education, service and interaction that fosters acceptance, understanding and respect for diversity. Her past positions as a funeral director and certified nursing assistant have fostered her skills of compassion and empathy.

Mr. Dorn has been with Isaly Counseling Associates for the last 16 years. He has over 28 years of experience in the field of counseling. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and specializes in the treatment of men's issues, stress management, anger management, dual diagnosis, co-dependency, sexual minority, shame and guilt and life-purpose issues.  He also provides critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) counseling to area companies. He holds a Master’s Degree in Divinity from the Washington Theological Union, Silver Spring MD.  Mr. Dorn provides EAP services to military personnel and their families as an in network provider in the Military One Source (MOS) program through Beacon Health and the US Department of Defense. Throughout his career he has held both managerial and clinical positions in Pittsburgh area treatment facilities. He has presented trainings on Adolescent Addiction, Addiction and Spirituality, and Boundaries in the Workplace. His clinical approach is individualized to the counseling needs of each of his clients and he seeks to provide a safe therapeutic environment so his clients will experience personal empowerment so necessary for desired change.

ALICIA M. FAIRMAN

Ms. Fairman has worked in behavioral health services since 1994. She received a bachelor’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Counselor Education from Penn State University. Ms. Fairman’s experience includes working with adolescents, adults, and families. She has managerial and clinical experience in the areas of assessment, mental health services, dual diagnosis, program development, and licensure supervision. She is trained in individual and group therapy facilitation. Areas of specialty include depression, stress management, organizational skills, anger management, anxiety, compulsive behaviors, relationship issues, bullying, parenting, and communication skills. Mrs. Fairman also provides EAP services and is a Certified School Counselor. She has served as an operational consultant to various community agencies throughout her professional career. Ms. Fairman’s intention is to provide motivation and support through therapeutic intervention.

KATHRYN GIBSON

MA, Family Mediator

Ms. Gibson, a counselor with Isaly Associates in the North Hills and Butler, specializes in issues surrounding divorce, custody and stepfamily. She is also a frequent speaker for corporate, professional and academic groups on such topics as stress management, workplace communications and team building. In addition, Ms. Gibson is a court-approved mediator for Allegheny County and a facilitator in the county's successful custody education program. In her private practice, she specializes in mediation and counseling for changing families and couples. High conflict families are often referred to her by judges, lawyers and other mental health professionals. Ms. Gibson received her M.A. in counseling from Slippery Rock University and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Grove City College. Her basic and advanced mediation trainings are approved by the state of Pennsylvania and the Academy of Family Mediators. Ms. Gibson is also a writer, specializing in articles about family and workplace mental health issues. Her articles have won national awards in Chicago, Phoenix, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., and locally, they have appeared in The Pittsburgh Post Gazette and Pittsburgh Parent.

BETH A. MCNIERNEY

Ms. McNierney is a licensed professional counselor who earned her Master’s degree in Child Psychology from Duquesne University and her Counseling Certification through Carlow University. She has been working on behalf of children and their families for over fifteen years. Ms. McNierney’s experience includes a variety of therapy settings and she has provided intensive in home family therapy, as well as individual outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. She specializes in grief and
loss, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, relationship issues and other behavioral concerns utilizing psychotherapies, from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Based Focused therapies and other therapeutic approaches that best fit the needs of the client to help them maximize and reach their full potential. In couples counseling, she guides couples through resolution of common relationship issues such as infidelity, intimacy problems, co-parenting and conflict communication. She has managerial and clinical experience in the areas of assessment, behavioral analysis, program development and licensure supervision. Ms. McNierney is also a licensed Behavioral Specialist.
